YoungEntrepreneur.com is a forum to talk about anything related to entrepreneurship. The community includes people from 15 to 35 years old, although mostly on the younger end of that spectrum. It is a great place to ask questions, learn about starting a business, generating sales, advertising, starting a college business, making a little extra money on the side, or numerous other topics.
The forum was recently revamped and now includes a point ranking system which judges members based on their activity and quality of posts. The point system allows users to add extra features once they accumulate enough points. There are also many new options including user blogs and even an arcade. YE has also teamed up with US Legal to assist entrepreneurs with legal questions (although they can’t provide legal advice). There is very little spam on the new forum and it is quick and easy to sign up.
Some of the forum topics include: Marketing and Page Rank, Looking for Capital/Biz Partners, Legal, Management, Franchising, Internet and E-commerce, Startups, and Business Planning. There are many knowledgable resources that are available to help out with questions, provide advice, or discuss current topics with. A couple words of caution or advice, search the forum before asking a question, because a lot of things have already been discussed recently and you can find your answer quickly by searching. Also, try to stay away from very basic questions such as “how do I start a business?” or “how do I make money?”
In addition to the active forum, there are also postings of entrepreneurship podcasts and a very interested YE Blog. Most members know eachother by name and what projects they are working on, which creates a close-knit forum community.
