About

Joshua SaundersJoshua is a nationally recognized expert on sustainable products, green business strategy, and environmental marketing.  Joshua is the co-founder and CEO of Greencurement; a software platform to help institutional purchasers make more informed procurement decisions.  Joshua is also the CEO of Ideavation, a company that provides electronic wine menu software to restaurants to eliminate the constant reprinting of menus.  Previously, Joshua worked as Senior Director of Business Development for GoodGuide, where he was responsible for partnerships, alliances and commercial sales and marketing operations.  Joshua has worked closely with a number of consumer packaged goods companies, product manufacturers, and retailers on sustainability strategy and he has worked with a variety of environmental standard setting, eco-labeling, and certification programs across a wide range of industries from electronics to building products.

Joshua has held several operational roles within the sustainability and product testing industry.  Joshua was one of the co-founders of UL Environment, a subsidiary of Underwriters Laboratories that focused on sustainable product certification, where he served as Global Operations Manager.  He has been heavily involved in many sustainability initiatives, including participating in roundtables with the National Academies of Science, the White House Office of Environmental Quality, and the Keystone Center, as well as being a contributor to NPR’s Marketplace.  Joshua holds a Bachelors degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Entrepreneurship.

In addition to Joshua’s expertise and passion for sustainability strategy, he is also avid in the entrepreneurship community where he works with companies on building long-term value and growing their business.  With specific expertise in business strategy, technology, business model development, and operations/execution, Joshua enjoys working with companies to grow their business.  A Chicago native, Joshua resides in the Lakeview neighborhood with his wife Lisa.
